"Our dear son Devin taught me patience and how to never give up. At a young age he struggled and never gave up. His struggles became his strength. He learned how to notice when others was struggling, or was having difficulty, or just didn't seem to fit in. He often reached out to them with his laughter and kindness he tried to make everyone his friend. He was remembered for being "That Guy" who had many friends from many places some didn't know his name only that he was different. He often wore a fedora, and could be seen with bow ties, or a trench coat. He stood out with his smile and didn't know a stranger. He loved to tell stories and share jokes and their was never a dull moment when he was around! He left a imprint on hearts and will never be forgotten!"

That Tiger Award is given to one female and male who are seniors at West Liberty Salem Highschool each year. The student is nominated by staff and their peers. The nominations are based on the following characteristics: they must be trustworthy, loyal, thrifty, obedient, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, brave, clean, and reverent. We then select the winners and awards them with cash price and a Tiger blanket! We wanted to focus on the imprint that is left behind by the nominee. Who they are, and how they treat others will be remembered by the imprint they’re leaving behind.
